Bad Mitterndorf lies at the heart of a long, wide, and relatively flat valley, which makes it the ideal place for casual cycling.  In and around the village there are several marked cycling trails.  Some of these trails are on asphalted country lanes and others follow cross-country tracks through forests and along riverbanks.

For the more seriously sporty cyclists, Bad Mitterndorf lies on the R19 and the Dachsteinrunde circular trail.

The R19 is a 47-km-long cycling trail that leads from Trautenfels in the Enns valley to the spa town of Bad Ischl in Upper Austria.  The Dachsteinrunde circular trail is 176 km long.  It goes right round this magnificent mountain and offers spectacular views of the Dachstein glacier from the Viehbergalm.

Additionally, there are some tougher medium-length mountain-biking trails around the village itself that will really put your leg muscles to the test!
